About NAMM

Founded in 1901, NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) has a mission to strengthen the music products industry and promote the pleasures and benefits of making music. They envision a world in which the joy of making music is a precious element of daily living for everyone; a world in which every child has a deep desire to learn music and a recognized right to be taught; and in which every adult is a passionate champion and defender of that right.


About The NAMM Foundation

The NAMM Foundation advances active participation in music making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs. A supporting organization of NAMM, The NAMM Foundation is funded by NAMM Members through trade association activities and private donations.


My Work Experience

Key Achievements

  • Per year, managed 13+ projects, 7 social media channels/accounts, 12 social media marketing campaigns and 13 editorial calendars.

  • Idealized and implemented the monthly NAMM Foundation Newsletter to 116k+ subscribers.

  • Project management of the Nonprofit Management Institute at The NAMM Show from its’ infancy to year five. Partners included: NAfME, Americans for the Arts, Little Kids Rock, VH1 Save The Music Foundation, Kala, Remo, Music For All, Young Audiences, and more.

  • Assisted in the planning of the NAMM Advocacy Fly-In. Guests included: Bernie Williams, David Brooks, Tim Robbins, Chad Smith, Citizen Cope, Richard Riley and the late John Lewis. Managed Registration and Housing for NAMM Member executives, as well as several guest artists.

    • Project management of the Nonprofit Management Institute. Partners included: NAfME, Americans for the Arts, Little Kids Rock, VH1 Save The Music Foundation, Kala, Remo, Music For All, Young Audiences, and more.

    • Project management of Music Making Circles (Drum and Ukulele) and Community Music Making Forums.

    • Project management of Registration/Housing for the NAMM Advocacy Fly-In. Guests included: Bernie Williams, David Brooks, Tim Robbins, Chad Smith, Citizen Cope, Richard Riley and the late John Lewis. Managed Registration and Housing for NAMM Member executives, as well as several guest artists.

    • Assisted in the planning of NAMM Foundation events with partners including: The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, VH1 Save The Music Foundation, President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities, Turnaround Arts, Kala, Remo, Music For All, Make Music Day and Sesame Street Workshop.

    • Created shot lists for photographers- Getty photographers and local freelancers- and managed them on site, for NAMM Foundation and NAMM events.

    • Bands @ NAMM committee member; vetted submissions of artists to play at NAMM Shows.

    • Management of Talking Up Music Education, a podcast by The NAMM Foundation. Featured guests included Scott Page, Eric Whitacre, Vince Gill, Emmy Lou Harris, Ben Folds, David Brooks, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Hunter Hayes, Vanessa Carlton and more.

    • Created/managed the editorial calendar and worked with host to record episodes.

    • Managed outside contractors, including programmers/editors.

    • Wrote episode descriptions and titles of each podcast. Wrote show notes/articles and published them to NAMMFoundation.org.

    • Promoted the podcast on social media channels. Managed the social media editorial calendar. Connected with publicists and/or artists to share episodes.

    • Executed content marketing, including: social media, blogs, email marketing, images, digital publications, and testimonials.

    • Wrote, proofread and edited for The NAMM Foundation, including: website content, articles, advertisements, newsletters, toolkits, e-blasts, and social media posts.

    • Managed web content management for NAMMFoundation.org. Used SEO to create user-friendly content. Focused on evergreen content, including CTAs and updating old sites to increase reach.

    • Wrote copy and edited NAMM.org Public Affairs articles.

    • Competent and proficient in the essential elements of social marketing, including social media strategies, community building, content marketing and social media advertising.

    • Hootsuite certified in Social Marketing. Attended Social Media Marketing World annually.

    • Managed seven social media channels/accounts and 12 social media marketing campaigns.

    • Oversaw editorial/content calendars, produced and curated content, promoted events, photo edited and created social influencer lists.
